I have both Mac and Windows. It’s disturbed me for so long and I found the solution:
On the Mac, manually change the ethernet settings. Don’t do auto. Configure it manually and depending on your network speeds, adjust accordingly. I have 100baseTX, which is pretty normal for networks.
That’s “System Preferences” –> “Network” –> ” Advanced” –> “Ethernet”.

Well, it looks as if the source found the leak and fixed it. I added a different source, but it’s not a reliable only because I can’t get the same consistancy of texts. But at least it’s over 500k. I’m going to sell this phone. It’ll come w/ the plan (450 min, unlimited data, unlimited text). Anyone care to buy it? Otherwise, I’ll just return it. It’s a brand new iPhone 3G 16GB white. Still in its wrapping and will include everything w/ it. I’ll mostly engrave the total text count on the back if sold. Let me know. Details here.
Well, I’m finally home and it looks as if my source has stopped the attempt for the million text attempt. I’ve lost over 100k this past wk and there is no way I can get it back. Oh well, what can I say? An attempt is an attempt. If life didn’t consist of failures, then life wouldn’t be worth living. I’ll still continue to update the numbers. I’ll just have to find something good w/in the next 9 days.
